The Kerry Way Ultra Story

Running is an increasingly popular sport in Ireland, it’s relatively inexpensive, convenient and almost anybody can give it a go! However, extreme running is emerging as a challenge for those who want to push themselves further. There are many extreme events around the world, from sub-zero running in Alaska to the intense heat of the multi-day Sahara Marathon and now, Kerry (and Ireland!) has its own ultra event.

The Kerry Way Ultra events are becoming very popular so, to minimize any environmental damage to The Kerry Way, participant numbers will be limited to 500 maximum over the four events. This will be 200 max. for The Kerry Way Ultra, 170 max. for The Kerry Way UltraLite, 100 max for The Kerry Way UltraNite and 10 teams of three for The Kerry Way UltraRelay. There will be a waiting list if necessary.
